funny stories

KIDS and CHURCH

3-year-old Reese:
"Our Father, Who does art in heaven,
Harold is His name. "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:
"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it.
I'm having a real good time like I am."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,
"That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home,
and I wanted to stay with you guys."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed,
"And forgive us our trash baskets
as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright girl replied,
"Because people are sleeping."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
"If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
"Ryan, you be Jesus!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children
when the four-year-old son ran up to him,
grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked.
"He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said,
"Did God throw him back down?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner.
At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said,
"Would you like to say the blessing?"
"I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied.
"Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered.
The daughter bowed her head and said,
"Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
ang aming bahay...
Ang lahat ng bahay, malaki man o maliit, mansion man o barong barong ay kailangan ng matibay na pundasyon. Ito ang nagpapanatili sa pagkakatayo ng isang tahanan dumaan man ang matinding bagyo, malakas na hangin, mainit na panahon at anu kahit anu pa mang pagsubok ng kalikasan. Sa aming tahanan kung saan hinuhubog at pinagtitibay ang aming spiritual na buhay ay matibay ang pundasyong nagpapanatili ng kaayusan at katatagan ng bahay. Sila ang mga pundasyong hinasa na ng panahon na nakahandang humarap sa anumang pagsubok na hatid nito at handang protektahan ang mga bahagi ng tahanang naka-depende sa kanila. Narito ang matitibay naming pundasyon
KUYA RICKY
Si Kuya Ricky, na dati ring miyembro ng youing people sa Christian Faith Church ay isa sa aming mga youth advisers. May sarili na ring family si Kuya Rick at yun ay si ate Aileen na para sa kanya ay isang regalo na matagal tagal ring pinrepare ni Lord para sa kanya na ibinigay naman in His perfect timing…pero sa kabila niyan, ay matiyaga pa rin siyang nakabantay at naka alalay sa gawain ng kabataan sa aming simbahan. Lagi siyang naka antabay sa mga activities at talaga namang young at heart pa rin siya. Naniniwala kasi siya (ayon sa pagkakatanda ko) na mabuting hinuhubog ang kabataan sa simbahan nang sa gayon ay maging matibay siya hanggang sa kanyang paglaki at walang anumang pagsubok ang makakasira sa relationship niya kay Lord. Yan si Kuya Ricky.
ATE MHAI
Eto naman si ate Mhai, kasalukuyan siyang nasa abroad. Dati rin siyang member ng young people at sa kanyang paglaki (naks) ay isa rin siya sa masugid na umalalay sa gawain. Katulad sila ni Ricky ng paniniwala tungkol sa paghubog sa isang spiritually habang bata pa…KUYA GARY
Si kuya Gary ang dating pangunahing advisers na humahawak sa activity ng mga kabataan. Lagi rin namin siyang kasama sa mga lakad, kagaya ng pagbisita sa ibang mga churches at outdoor fellowship. kahit hindi siya mukhang driver, madalas niya kaming ipinagmamaneho dahil sa sasakyan din niya kami nakikisakay. Matiyaga siyang nagbabantay sa aming mga activities at kahit ngayong nag iba na ang administrasyon ay nakukulit pa rin namin siya at nahihingan ng tulong especially kapag may Christmas presentations.
KUYA JULIUS a.k.a. KUYA YOK
Siya ang kasalukuyang “bagong administrasyon” ng young people. Siya ngayon ang aming kinukulit 24/7. Natiyaga rin siyang nakabantay at nakagabay sa gawain ng youth. At mahaba rin ang pasensya nitong si kuya Julius, kahit pa ubod ng kulit at ubod ng gulo ang mga young people.
By the way, aminado rin siya na likas din siyang makulit. Jack of all trades din si kuya Yok, siya ay pastor ,adviser, singer (the best!) dancer (ehem) entertainer, game master, camp director, choir conductor (ng mens and womens department kapag christmas party) taga-alok ng tinda ng ibang ka church mate :-) at marunong din siyang magbutingting ng kung anik anik
ATE ZEN
Si ate Zen, siya po ang mabuting maybahay ni Kuya Yok. Mabait at mahaba din ang pasensya ni ate Zen at katulad nina Gem at Hana ay itinuturing din nilang anak ang iba pang kabataan. Para na nga rin naming bahay ang tahanan nila, duon na kami nakiki computer, nakiki charge, nakiki c.r., nakiki kain at nakikitulog. Basta para sa gawain ni Lord ay all out ang kanilang support.
PASTOR GANI
Siya ang aming pastor. Siya din ang matibay na foundation ng aming church. Siya ang malinaw na physical manifestation ng "living by faith" at katuparan ng ilan sa mga promises. aminadong nagsimula sa mababa, tinupad ni Lord ang pangako niya na prosperity at abundance sa kanilang buhay. marami rin silang natutulungan financially at higit sa lahat spiritually. eto ang verse na natatandaan kong madalas niyang sinasabi;
Jeremiah 19:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
sila ang pundasyon ng aming tahanan...
friends...
friends are....
companions...they accompany you to places that you'd like to see...to adventures that you are afraid of trying all by yourself...to help you decide in what color to choose in picking a shirt or a blouse perhaps...friends accompany you to concerts so you wouldn't go shouting all by your self...that may leave people staring at you in amazement...thinking you may have gone crazy.
friends are...
allies...they support you in whichever road you choose to take...friends even take the risks in joining you while you risk your self...friends stand just right beside you...closer when you need a hand to reach out to...farther when you need someone to look after you
friends are...
confidant...to lend a shoulder to cry on, to listen to your worries and hear the silent cry of your wounded heart...friends keep their hearts open, accepting you whatever you have to decided to do to yourself...staying with you when every one has left....
friends are...
advisers...to let you see life in a different view...when worries and hardships have blurred your sight, friends are there to lead you to a better way...friends tell how they truly feel so you'll have an idea of what it's like to be in a different case...so you wouldn't think that the initial reaction and idea you have in mind, is always the right thing to do.
friends are...
admirers...they admire the courage you have and admire your strength in admitting your weaknesses and facing failure...they admire your good looks and goodness in taste and admire your boldness to be different...in expressing yourself no matter what people say...
friends are...angels, God-given gifts. they are physical manifestations that a loving, caring and generous living God like the one we worship, looks after us and makes sure that we receive his personal sent presents. every day that we live with our friends are days that God shows himself to us, through their loving kindness and loyalty, friends assures of a company and of a good life that lies ahead.
youth camp....
Youth Camp
the annual summer youth camp is one major event that we guys look forward to. it is a gathering of youth from different Christian Faith Churhes and other visiting churches. we spend the most important five-days in our lives every year for a fun-filled camp where we praise and worship the Lord and have fun thoughout the camp duration. we have here a group photo of this year's summer camp held in tanay rizal. with more than a hundred attendees, we sure had an all out enjoyment....
the success of a camp cannot be measured by the number of attendees, nor the loudness of cheers and cries during praise&woship sessions. it's success is not measured on the list of contact numbers that you gathered from your new found friends...but the success of a summer youth camp is measured by an individual's knowledge of God that he takes home when he leaves the camp premises...and how he let's this new found knowledge reflect through his life.
the summer camp needs the utmost planning and conceptualization. but above all the number of thinking heads and working bodies, divine guidance is the key to having a fun-Christ-filled-camp. without it, everything wouldn't make sense.
it takes about a year of planning and meeting for each year's camp. and i bet you couldn't imagine the tension and pressure that we, officers have before, during and after each camp. we think about the programs, line up of activities, games for fun and enjoyment, meals, the venue, guest speakers and lecturers, the fund, prizes, topics, the camp theme. and to top it all off, we think about how we are before our God, for He is the sole reason why we commit ourselves in this kind of long term activity. committing oneself to a youth camp is something that requires us of our time, our personal growth, our minds, our hearts, our dedication. it can be likened to committing oneself to a loved one, that you try to give the best that you can, you think of the best that you can give, with the assurance that the Lord our God, He who loved us first, will be there with us all throughout.
here are some of the photos that we have before the recent camp....
The Latest Buzzzzzz..............
Buddies...here's what we've all been waiting for...
The CFYF Summer Youth Camp '07
Go, Grow and Glow in the Lord
Theme Verse: Philippians 1:9-11
Venue: Asian Hope Bible School Tanay Rizal
Date: April 2-6, 2007
Yahoooooooooooo.....
Thank God, it has now finally come. We're but a a few more weeks away from the much awaited summer camp for this year. It took us nearly a year (the entire time after the previous camp) to come up with the activities and programs for the upcoming youth gathering. This is not going to be the first one (on our part...the youth leaders) but it sure is one of the most exciting that we're gonna have.
We've all been campers before we've all gone through the mind buggling, nerve wracking and spirit lifting sumer camp activities and it sure did played a great part on the person that we are today (hindi yung pagiging pasaway namin ha, kundi yung pagiging God fearing namen hehehe). We sure owe a lot to the older generation of youth members who have gone beyond their limitations in bringing us closer to our one true God. They sure have gone through the same efforts (as we are now going through) in coming up with the best activities so the attendees will enjoy the five-day summer camp; for the Christrian youth---to get closer to him and for the first timers---to know and accept God and realize that Christian living is not boring after all---that it is a life full of zest and peace knowing that a powerful and loving watches over us all.
Most of our youth leaders (that includes me of course) have been campers for years and with all that experience and training from our church elders plus the knowledge and guidance from our good Lord, we have been entrusted by other youth members and church leaders in leading future camps. We've had our "firsts" last year; first attending a camp without being a camper, first time conceptualizing / planning and arguing against one other on the kind of activities that we will have on the first camp that we take our part as leaders...slash facilitators...slash nannies...slash runners...slash motivators....slash dishwashers...slash peace keepers...slash ate's and kuya's...to which by the end of each day....we all come back to our humble selves.... realizing that after all, we are still the ones benefitting and learning from all the activities that we, ourselves, lined up for other youth, that we, although not first timers are still the ones learning from all lectures, scriptures and life stories of the younger attendees to whom we are trying our best to be "ate's and kuya's. "
By the end of the camp, I'm sure the others would agree with me, that we all realized how serious and darn important our responsibilities are. It sure came clear to us that being the ate's and kuya's of the camp doesn't pertain only in becoming the people responsible for the activities, speakers and putting everything together, but it is also our main obligation to lead this younger youth by the kind of lives each of us live...that our lives no matter how we look to it, still affect the outcome of the camp and how our campers become after they leave. It may not be too obvious, but surely, God looks on the motive and intention we have in all that we do and He will surely know us, to depths of our hearts and our thoughts and know exactly
